Welcome

Hello and welcome to our website.

IMG_0177-200x300Our aim is to ride and care for our horses in a way that is both physically and mentally beneficial to them. Or, to put it more simply, we need to understand how to be around the horses, and how to train them to carry us correctly and therefore comfortably over many years. We continually work to improve our understanding of the physical and mental needs of the horse.
We are also keen to stress that good horsemanship is in no way limited to those who are fortunate enough to own fancy horses: good horsemanship is for everyone and every horse. Of course it can be a real pleasure to ride and train a talented horse, and we really enjoy it, but it is not a short cut to good horsemanship. We originally learned by working with hairy cobs – it is much more difficult that way and you have to be right up to the mark to get results, but it can be done. So never forget one thing: good horsemanship is good horsemanship!

IMG_0300-300x200Finally, we would like to point out the blindingly obvious: no-one else can learn this stuff for you! Teachers can present it to you and help you along the way, but ultimately you will need to move beyond the teacher/student relationship and learn it for yourself. Become your own teacher – lose any fear of making mistakes, listen to your horse and free yourself to really learn.

If any of the above strikes a chord with you, then you may enjoy our site. Also check out Equestrian Equipment for a huge range of horse riding equipment and clothing.

Once again – welcome.
